My name is Volak Sin. I am an Applied Mathematician and former Actuarial Analyst—a profession known for having some of the most difficult mathematics certification exams in the world. But I wasn't born a math prodigy.
In my freshman year, I failed my first Calculus test with a 68. I realized the problem wasn't my intelligence; it was the way math was taught—abstract, dry, and invisible. I refused to accept failure. I developed a visual system to decode the concepts, eventually finishing that same semester with a 98 on the comprehensive final—the highest score in the class.
